Business Development

Job summary:

We are an electronic recycler and data destruction company with clients globally. Our business is growing, and we need a skilled Business Developer to acquire and manage new and current client relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B sales, as well as skills related to strategic analysis and marketing. In this role, you will be responsible for developing relationships with our clients, negotiating contracts, and closing deals as well as maintaining the clients we currently have. We will rely on you to conduct market research and develop a strategic business development plan. Travel throughout the United States is maybe required for this position.

Responsibilities/daily tasks:

  • Cultivate existing relationships within the IT/Business communities to introduce R2 Corporation in order to present the company’s suite of solutions and capabilities.
  • Introduce new entities to R2 Corporation in order to present the company’s suite of solutions and capabilities
  • Present gross profit opportunities through excess and obsolete offers, asset management, data destruction, and general services related to our business capabilities.
  • Present programmatic and service opportunities to the company
  • Regular communication and reporting within R2 Corporation
  • Assist in defining your client’s needs, then working within the company’s corporate structure to meet them
  • Transaction reconciliation and order creation
  • Understand Budgeting and Cost of the Project
  • Maintain the integrity of the company
  • Understand and maintain the environmental standards of R2 Corporation
  • Assist in corporate related events as requested
  • Partner with sales team to create contract winning proposals for current and prospective clients
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate terms to management
  • Become subject matter expert of our certifications, business products, processes, and operation
  • On site assistance with requested jobs
  • Qualification and submission of job requests to include requirements
  • Attention to detail, prompt responses, and concise reporting
  • Customer account management
  • Develop and strengthen new existing relationships
  • Identify rising business opportunities and build long term relationships
  • Manage contracts, including RFP’s, negotiations, and closings
  • Other duties as requested

Job Specifications

  • High degree of interpersonal skills to maintain good relationships with differ sets of people both internally and externally

Education/ Training:

  • 1-3 years business development experience
  • 1-3 years account management experience
  • Sales training preferred
  • High school diploma / college degree preferred
  • 1-3 years industry experience
  • Knowledge of current applicable laws and regulations
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, and R2 certifications


  • 1-3 years business development experience
  • 1-3 years account management /customer service experience
  • 1-2 years outside sales experience
  • Proficient with CRM programs
  • Proficient with Computer skills to include Outlook and MS Office with an emphasis on Excel

Work Environment:

This position will typically work in a climate-controlled office.  Travel is required for this position.
